The property is typical of the area, with an old central area and some modern housing around it. 

Within a few steps of the village shop, on the church square, the modest frontage of the house hides two double and two single bedrooms, a bathroom, a shower room, a beamed open living and dining area, and at the top, a roof terrace with distant views of the Pyrenees.

You have to mind your head as you climb the stairs, and duck as you enter the bathroom, but this is a house with character which has been our very successful holiday home for the past 12 years.
 

International airports are at:

• Toulouse (1hr 45mins),
• Barcelona (2½hrs),
• Montpellier (1½ hrs),
• Pérpignan (60 mins)
• Carcassonne (50 mins).
• Ryan Air fly daily from Stansted, London, Bristol. East Midlands
• Euro star, from Waterloo, London connects at Lille or Paris with TGV direct to Narbonne.

We’ve now moved on from this lock-and-leave house to another (also in Paraza) which will be our more permanent home: that’s how much we like the place.  Oh, and the village boasts one of the finest restaurants in the area for those who can’t be bothered to cook!

We’ve had the house valued by agents at over 125,000 €uros, but we think that’s a bit much, and we’d sell it for 99,500 €uros
